Trash postcards - part 1

I picked up the first of the "trash" postcards today.

2 from Lynn:

And two from Dori:

File Folder - part 3

Look at Barbara's beautiful file folder envelope with the cool stitching around the edges.
(okay, so the left edge didn't fit on the scanner bed, but you can see it on the right!)

This is so much fun.

Watch your mailboxes

The Summer postcards went out in today's mail.  I felt a little bit like a matchmaker figuring out who gets each postcard.  May some new mail friendships be born!

Summer Postcards - Part 4

Look at all the gorgeous postcards that came today!
The backs are just as much fun as the fronts, but I figured I'd leave that part as a surprise for the recipient.

Two more file folder envelopes arrived.
I wonder what is inside each of these envelopes?
Only the recipient will know!

You still have oodles of time to make and mail one of these.  They need to be postmarked by June 30th.  They will make your mailbox very happy.

Favorite Song Postcard - postmark by July 21

  • create a postcard based on your favorite song.  It could include lyrics or images, it could be about how a song makes you feel or the person it makes you think of.  Interpretation is loose!  any style or medium is acceptable.
  • Put a stamp on it and write a short message to your partner - include your name and contact information (address and/or email and/or blog) so that you partner can thank you or find out more about you.
  • leave the address section blank
  • include a mailing label with your name and address on it (I will stick it on the card I mail back to you.  This keeps me from having to decipher handwriting on the envelope you send me, and saves me time when swapping everything and mailing it back out)
  • put it in an envelope and mail it to me:
             Karen Isaacson
             PO Box 532
             Shrewsbury, MA 01545
             United States
  • Feel free to make more than one ( you can send them to me in the same envelope).  You'll get back the number of postcards you create.  Make sure to include a mailing label for each post card you create.

Summer Postcards - Part 1

I've decided to post the incoming mail as I receive it, to keep things lively over here.

You still have a few more days to send in your postcards!  Perhaps these pictures will provide some inspiration and motivation.  Wouldn't you be thrilled to receive one?  Send one in and you'll get one back!

I'm linking to each artist's blog if I know what it is.  If you aren't linked and would like to be, send me an email and I'll update the post. (I'll link to whatever you want - your blog, flickr, facebook, youtube, home phone number, bank account....)

The artist's name is in the caption below each postcard.  Click on their name to see more of their work.

Sneak Peek - Summer post cards

The summer post cards have started to arrive, and boy are they beautiful!  This whole "send everything to me" idea was a good one.  I'm thoroughly enjoying getting all this beautiful mail.

So far, I have postcards from Terrie, Nydia, Dori, Jane, Carlene and Lynn.
It's not too late to join.
You still have a full week to make yours and put it in the mail!

Here's a sneak peek at what arrived this week:

What do you guys think - should I scan and post the art as it comes in the door, or should I save it all for one big blog post?  Leave me a comment.

new feature

Thanks to everyone who has joined the site and left comments and suggestions!  It's wonderful go get such an immediate response!

I added a page for "other cool swaps"
(see the tabs at the top).

This is the place where I'll list swaps going on at other sites.  I know lots of bloggers host swaps (particularly post card swaps) throughout the year and I thought it would be great to have a centralized  list of current swaps.

If you know of any great swaps, or if you're hosting one yourself, be sure to leave a comment on the "other swap" page or send me an email and I'll add it to the list.
I will only post ones that are currently accepting sign-ups and I'll pull them down once sign-ups are closed.

Thanks to Terrie for giving me my first tip on the "Liberate Your Art" postcard swap.
See the new page for a link to that swap.

Keep those good ideas coming!
