Resist You Must! - Post Card Swap - Postmark by March 29th - UPDATED

Drizzled rubber cement resist
and acrylic paints, collage - hhc

When you think of "resist" do you think of avoiding caloric desserts? For this exchange, participants may use various methods of resisting/blocking ink, paint, etc. in their overall designs.

Acrylic paints over frayed jute - hhc

Some materials that create resist/contrast in your post card design might include:

wax crayon drawing (or melted wax?)

drizzled or scraped rubber cement

masque liquid

frayed jute fiber (one of my favorites!)

temporary paper cut-out's (masks)

grease pencils

and what about stencils?

Stencils and Dylusions Spray Inks - by hhc

Over the above resists you might spray ink, or spray/brush acrylics or watercolors, for example.

(dried rubber cement smear was
scraped off after over-painting
dried.)  Collage and Rubber
stamping over acrylic paint

Drizzling rubber cement overall and after it dries, applying watercolor paints, then rubbing off the rubber cement to expose the white background creates space or room for contrasting designs and is SO much fun!  (Be sure to use good fresh air ventilation when working with rubber cement.)
