New home for art swaps

Hello Flutterbye friends!
You made it!
I'm so glad you're here.
Just because Flutterbye as we knew and loved it has closed, it doesn't mean we have to stop having fun.
Amy is keeping all the fabulous free Flutterbye content alive at the Flutterbye Facebook Page and on her blog.
And I'll be running the swap party over here.

These swaps are open to everyone. No membership is required.  Anyone can join any open swap at any time.  Tell all your friends to come.

It doesn't matter if you are a beginner.  It doesn't matter if you think your style isn't like other people's.  It doesn't matter if you don't think you're good enough.

YOU ARE PERFECT.
YOU BELONG HERE.

Here is an overview of how swaps will work:
  • The tabs at the top of the page will show you which swaps are open for new participants. Click the tab that says "open swaps" to see what is currently being offered and to read details of the swap.
  • If you want to join an open swap, send me an email to let me know you'll be participating, and then start creating your artwork.  You will send your art directly to me with enough money to cover return postage.  Each swap will have a "must be postmarked by" date.  Send your package to me by that date.  Once I've received them all, I will magically swap all the goodies and send someone else's art back to you.  Doing the swap this way guarantees you will get something in return.  No more worries about your partner flaking out on you.
  • Once the deadline has passed I will move the swap description to the "archives" page so that we are able to go back and refer to swap details (and so that a certain blog hostess will not have to rely on her aging memory when dreaming up new and exciting swaps.)
  • I will photograph the art you send me and post it all here on the blog for everyone to enjoy, giving you full credit for your work.  If you want your work linked to your blog or flickr account or other on-line presence, just make sure you include the url in the package you send me.
  • If you don't want to (or forget to) stick a little cash in the envelope, or if you live outside of the US, you can send me the return postage via paypal.

Ready to swap?
Click the tab at the top of the page that says "open swaps"

I'm so glad you're here!

June postcard swap - Summer theme. Postmark by June 15

  • Create one handmade postcard, no larger than 5x7 inches.
  • The art on the post card must be related to summer - interpret that however you wish.
  • You can use any style, any media.
  • Write a little note, sign your name.  Add your contact information if you want to share it with your partner.
  • leave the address part blank.
  • If you live in the US, put a stamp on it.
  • Now put the postcard in an envelope and mail it to me by June 15th.

If you live outside of the US don't put a stamp on the postcard, but send $1 (US currency) to my paypal account, iamrushmore@gmail.com

If you want to receive more than one postcard, send me more than one postcard.  If you send 3, you'll get 3 back.  Just make sure to put a stamp on each card or send me postage money for each card.

Leave a comment here when you've sent it so I can be on the lookout for it.
Once I've received all the postcards I will mail you someone else's card (naked, without an envelope, so make sure anything you attach to the card is stuck down really well)

File folder envelope Swap - postmark by June 30

  • Start with a plain file folder.
  • Decorate the front and back anyway you like.
  • Stick a little note inside (and be sure to include your name and any contact info you wish to share).
  • Seal the edges - glue, tape, stitching - anything to make it secure.
  • Put a blank address label of some sort on the front.
  • Stick the whole thing inside a big envelope with the cost of return postage and mail it to me by June 30th.

I will photograph all the file folders and post pictures of them on the blog, and then I will address them and send them out.  You'll get something wonderfully huge and crazy and colorful in the mail!

POSTAGE:

Before you seal the outer envelope, figure out what it's going to cost you to mail it to me, and then stick that much money inside the envelope.  Or send me that amount of money to my paypal account: iamrushmore@gmail.com.
