Collage Sheets Elements Post Card Challenge - Postmark by January 27th
Several previous Collage Sheets Elements Challenges have been lots of fun. Our most recent one was in 2014. It's amazing how different the interpretations will be, when many people start out with the same images.
The images shown here were arranged on 8+1/2" x 11" card stock, but I do not know how large they will print out when you download these three groups.
DIRECTIONS:
Download and print out * the three pages of images shown in this listing (any size/scale is permissible) on good quality paper. Then use the images to create 1 - 4 COLLAGED POST CARDS to be exchanged with your designated swap partners.
You may alter the images, re-size them, cut them, duplicate them, etc. You don't have to use all of them. It's alright to use partial images from the sheets, and/or to repeat them.
Using your own choice of background is fine.
Using your own choice of background is fine.
You may use images from just one, any or all of the sheets by mixing up images from the three sheets to make your art.
The challenge is to NOT add any other images, but to only use images or partial images or
repeat the images found on these sheets.
It's okay to add paint, crayon, marker, rubber stamping, writing, but
don't add any collage images
other than the ones on these 3 sheets.

to your computer, and then print them out

* If you do not have a printer, or want a higher-resolution copy,
I can send the sheets through the USPS/mail. If you will send me 8 FOREVER stamps
or $4.00 US Dollars A.S.A.P., that will help cover
copying costs and postage for 3 sheets in a flat mailer.

SWAP DETAILS:
- You may send in as many as four cards unless specified by the swap host. (You will get back the same number you send, each from a different artist)
- Mail your cards to the swap host in an envelope. The swap host will mail them "naked" to other swappers. International swappers may request to have them all mailed together in one envelope.
- If you're sending more than one, please make sure you insert waxed paper, parchment or cellophane between the cards so they don't get stuck together in the envelope, especially if you use glue, paint or sealant
- Write “MMSA - Collage Sheet " on the back of each card and attach your RETURN ADDRESS IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER in case of postal delivery problems. An email address legibly written would make it easier for your recipient to thank you.
- LEAVE THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE POSTCARD BLANK (THE PART WHERE THE ADDRESS "TO" GOES)
- Include a mailing label with your name and address for each card you create
(Your host will attach them to the cards she mails back to you) - Please include the proper postage in the envelope or adhere stamps to your postcards (see below for postal guidelines)
- Postcards made from thicker cardboard (therefore stiff/not easily bendable) will need nonmachinable postage. Thank you.
Postage and Card Size
- In order to use the postcard rate ($.35) your card cannot be bigger than 6"
x 4+1/4", and it must be thin and flexible. A card that is larger, thick, lumpy or doesn't bend, will require more postage.
- If your card is an unusual shape (square, round) or is flexible but has some lumpy embellishments it will probably cost you the "nonmachinable" rate of $.70
- If your card doesn't bend at all, the post office may consider it a package and you should go get it weighed and measured at a postal counter to determine the proper postage.
INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS - contact the swap host regarding using PayPal to cover return mailing postage, or make other arrangements.
You can find all the postal specifications (and a handy postage calculator) here: http://postcalc.usps.gov
