Let's have another Bookmarks Exchange, prompted by a new viewer. For those who still read books, or who collect books, it's fun to have a decorative bookmark to help find where one left off reading.

A ribbon, threads, yarn, cord, tassel or string would be a nice addition at the top.
Front and back is fine, but not required. Please put your name and contact info on the back of your tag.

Size: 1+1/2" - 2+1/2" wide by 6" - 8" long would be good size, just so they fit into a long business mailing envelope.

For this group mail art exchange, make five bookmarks to share. If you use glue, sealer or decoupage, paint or ink, be sure to wrap each dry finished piece in waxed paper before mailing in to be swapped.

Participants, include
1. a business envelope for your exchanged art to come to you.
2. a self-address label, and
3. two loose Forever stamps.
Postmark on or before Monday, AUGUST 8th.
You may send up to five bookmarks. (You will get back the same number you send, each from a different artist)
- Include a long business envelope self-addressed to you. Your swap host will use this to mail your exchanged tags.

One person's junk is another person's treasure, right? Let's repurpose that persistent, unwanted, unsolicited junk mail and make something beautiful. You can use your junk mail as a background, as the main feature, or use bits of many different pieces together to make a (collaged) picture or to spell out new messages. Playing with words can be fun!
OXFORD LANGUAGES defines repurposing as to "reuse (discarded objects or materials) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original. With the example: 'the opportunity to upcycle trash, or turn it into new products...'"

Ink them, scuff paint on them for that "grunge" look; stencil, rubber stamp, fold them, rip them, layer them, punch out shapes - even make altered pictures with them if your junk mail has pictures as well as words. Many possibilities exist...

But make sure we can see that you did use junk mail (even though the temptation might be to cover it completely with opaque paint :)
You also can reference on the back of your post card(s) what you started with.
Techniques/media may include paint, ink, rubber stamping, collage, etc. Just remember that art that hangs over the edge of your post card(s) will require extra postage, as will notched corners, over-sized, thick or stiff cardboard. The "flex test" is quite simple.

- Maximum Post Card size is no larger than 4+1/4" by 6 inches.
- Minimum Post Card size is 3+1/2" x 5".
Enclose loose postage for each of your art pieces. Also one self-address label for each card that you expect to receive in return.
- If you're sending more than one PC, please insert waxed paper or parchment between the
- cards so they don't get stuck together in the
- envelope, especially if you are using glue or paint.
- Please write your return address or email address on the back of each PC so your swap partner(s) can thank you.
- Mail your PC's to your swap host in an envelope, and your host will mail out the exchanged PC's after the swap is processed

We haven't had "TIME" for a group swap in a while, so here's another one. Participants may interpret the theme literally or in an abstract way. Some ideas might be clocks, watches, timers or related images.
