non-paper postcards part 3

All of the wonderful non-paper postcards went out in this morning's mail.
I love my postal workers.  Today the incredibly sweet & patient Kristen helped make sure I had proper postage on everything, and she got a big kick out of your creativity.

I realize I never posted the last batch of pictures from the swap.

Here are 3 fabric and acetate cards from Carlene:

And here are five cards from Trula:
This first one is duct tape, the next two are fabric and the last two are fused plastic bags.

This was a really fun swap.  I've already had people clamoring for a repeat, saying now that they've seen all the pictures they have lots of good ideas.
Maybe we'll do it again toward the end of the year!

non paper postcards - part 2

Boy, oh boy!  You guys really got your creative juices flowing for this challenge.
Some very cool things have arrived in my mailbox this week.  Are you ready to have your mind blown?

Carroll's cards are made from foil and plastic:

Ciara's card is from a CD:

Ellen made her card from wood and string:

Gina's cards are from an old record and duct tape:

Honi's cards are embellished fabric:

Indigo's cards are thick plexiglass:

(see how they are transparent?)

Joanne's first card is this zippered pouch filled with interesting tid-bits:

Joanne's second "card" is this sturdy painted tube, wrapped in twine.
I can't wait to see the looks on the faces of my postal workers when I go to send this!

Katie's first card is from a plastic "clamshell" type of package, it's filled with buttons and beads and trinkets.

Her next two cards are made from fused grocery bags

and Katie's fourth card is a thick styrofoam tray:

Leslie's fabric cards are embellished with lots of cool trim.

Mandy's cards are made from painted transparencies that have been stitched together with bits of cool fiber sandwiched in between:

You guys are AMAZING!

Non-Paper postcards, part 1

Have you been struggling for inspiration on the non-paper postcard swap?
I have a few early submissions to get your creative juices flowing:

Here are two fabric/quilted cards from Connie (who is swapping with us here for the first time!):

Another cool fabric/embroidered card from Currie:

Joyce created a postcard from canvas and decorative tape.

Ria made a postcard from a soda can!

Terrie made four postcards from scraps of veneer, and two postcards from bubble wrap!

Such fabulous idea!

I know there are more cards on their way to me (or perhaps even waiting in my neglected mailbox) and I'll be showing them soon.
If you're on the fence about this swap, hopefully these images will inspire you to join.
You've got until Monday June 17th to get them in the mail.
Swap details are here.
