Postal Theme: Stamps, Words, Images - Post Card Swap - Postmark by August 30th

Since the postal service is such an integral part of our mail art exchanges, I thought it would be a good theme for another swap.

I remember my grandfather's post office box with its brass door and small glass window.

One of your options for this swap is designing and printing out some of your own faux postage stamps to use in the overall post card design.

Our Blog founder Karen Isaacsson featured two different swaps in the past and outlined the how-to regarding using a computer to design stamps.  You can type Faux Postage into the search bar at the right side of the Home Page for detailed instructions.

Or you can use cancelled US stamps, foreign stamps, or incorporate fake stamps printed up by various crafts supply companies.

You can also use postal phrases or cancellation marks and postal- themed rubber stamps.   Here are some "post marks" I made using rubber stamps.

The "stamps" below were made by printing images on white full sheet labels though a Print Shop program on my computer.  I cut them out with scrapbooking scissors (see above).

Background or design/technique for your post card art is up to each participant.

Make up 1 - 4 post cards with a postal theme to be exchanged with swap partners.
