Thankful postcard swap - postmark by November 10th

By the time this swap is finished, it will be almost Thanksgiving here in the U.S.
So make a postcard representing something for which you are thankful.

I realize the above image isn't a postcard, but it's one of my favorite pieces of art.
When my son was in Kindergarten, every kid in the class had to create a piece of art using the following formula; "Thank you __________  for __________."

All the parents were invited to the school for a slide show and all of these adorable drawings had sayings like "thank you God for giving us flowers" and "thank you Mommy for making me cookies"
and then there was Max's piece.
It brought down the house.

(and for those of you outside of Massachusetts, a bubbler is what we call a drinking fountain)
(I have no idea why )

So thanks for indulging me with that proud parenting moment.
Now for the swap details:
  • create an original post card featuring something for which you are thankful.
  • The card can be any size, just make sure you include the proper postage.  If your card is bigger than 4"x 6" it will need more than a post-card stamp.
  • Leave the address section blank.
  • Write a little note about the significance of your postcard, and be sure to include your contact information so your recipient can thank you.
  • Also:  write "MMSA thankful swap" somewhere on your card.  If you are lucky enough to get lots of mail, like I do, it really helps to have a frame of reference for why a particular piece has arrived in your mailbox.
  • I will scan and post your art to this blog.  If you want it linked to your blog, website, flicker, facebook, etsy, twitter, instagram, etc, make sure you add a note for me with the url.
  • Stick the postcard in an envelope with a return address label (I will stick it on the card I mail back to you) and a stamp.
  • Feel free to make more than one postcard.  You will get back the same number you send.  Just make sure to include an address label and stamp for every postcard you send.
  •  If you're doing more than one MMSA swap, and you are super organized and finishing things way ahead of deadline, you can stick all your swaps in one big envelope.  You can help my poor addled brain by telling me which items are for which swap.
  • Get it in the mail no later than November 10th:
    • Karen Isaacson, PO Box 532, Shrewsbury, MA 01545

The apple don't fall far from the tree, Ma'am. Classic awesome Max-ness :)!

My son's was, "Thank you God for giving us Chickens." Maybe not as good as blubbers, but I was still a little perplexed. Where'd he pull that from?

Dropped my cards off at the post office just before they closed.
