NUMBERS - Post Card Swap - Postmark by Monday, March 14th

This Numbers-themed swap was prompted by the realization that tomorrow's (abbreviated) date 2/22/22 will never come again.

Someone recently reminded me that almost 300 years ago, our first American President, George Washington, was born on 2/22/1732.

I recently made up the card below to take note of the line-up of numbers:

Honi-art - Rubber stamps, stamp inks, white pen

For this exchange, your art might draw on Mathematical formulas:

Honi art - Rubber stamps, collage
over a copy of Math textbook page

Honi-art from previous Numbers swap

Honi-art from an ICAD exchange

Or perhaps use sizing charts:

Clothing sizes

There are many other charts and lists, even lottery tickets, store receipts, stock market reports in newspapers, etc. that include numbers.  Start looking around and see what you can come up with if you want a Numbers-themed background.

Another option might be to feature one (or more) number(s) and decorate/embellish them.

Type in "Numbers" in the side bar, mid-way down on the right side of our MMSA Home Page where it says "SEARCH" to see previous "Numbers" group swap art.

SWAP DETAILS:

  • You may send in as many as FIVE Post Cards.  (You will get back the same number you send, each from a different artist,)
  • Mail your PCs to your host in an envelope, and your host will mail out the swapped PCs after the swap is processed.
  • Remember to enclose some labels with your mailing address on them.
  • If you're sending more than one PC, please insert waxed paper or parchment between the
  •  cards so they don't get stuck together in the
  •  envelope.

  • Postage enclosed should be 1 post card stamp each, unless your art is oversized, thick, stiff, has embellishments or notched corners.  In this case extra postage would be required for your host to send your art along to another swapper.
  • Please write your return address (and email address?) on the back of the PC so the recipient
  • can thank you.
Here is a sample of a post card back showing proper placement of information:
