DECORATED TAGS 2021 Swap - Postmark by September 13th

By hhc

It's been a while since we have had a Decorated Tags swap.  Tags come in many different sizes and shapes.  I find the smaller tags charming, but you get more art on the shipping tags :)  If you don't have a source for ordering some, I have a few extra blanks...

You can also cut out rectangles from cardstock and angle the corners, punch a hole in the middle of the top edge, (maybe reinforce with those stick-on reinforcements we used to use for notebook paper)  and add string/jute or fancy yarns and fibers.

PARTICIPANTS:  Make 1 - 5 tags to be exchanged with swap partners :)

As for turning them into art, you can dip/soak them in rubberstamp inks.  Or food coloring.  Use watercolors or acrylic paints.  Rubberstamp some designs, add collage, lace, thread, low-profile findings. Just remember these have to go through the postal system twice.  Packages require more postage than envelopes and sometimes require protective padding.  Also, they might take longer to arrive.

Two-sided art is lots of fun, or you could just decorate one side of each tag.  You may send up to five tags.  (You will get back the same number you send in, each one from a different artist.)

Include a large greeting card envelope or 6" x 9" brown Kraft envelope, self-addressed to you.  Your swap host will use this to mail your exchanged tags.

If you're sending more than one, please make sure to use waxed paper, parchment or cellophane between the tags so they don't get stuck together in the envelope, especially if you use glue, paint or sealant.

>>>>>>Write your contact information on the back of each tag you send in.  An email address legibly written would make it easier for your recipient to thank you.
  • ALSO, PLEASE SEND LOOSE POSTAGE:  TWO FOREVER STAMPS SHOULD COVER IT.  HOWEVER, if you use faux gems, buttons , lace, beads, metal findings or thick fibers, please include four loose stamps as they may have to go as packages.
