Another Asemic Writing Adventure - Post Card Swap - Postmark by July 6th

by hhc

In childhood I enjoyed "scribbling" with the pretense of actually writing something that made sense.

We had some previous ASEMIC WRITING group swaps in January of 2020, September of 2018, and July of 2014.

Asemic writing does not impart definition or imply meaning, yet it is a very freeing art form.  The artist is creating something undecipherable, known only to the one who creates it.

Some artists use a flowing "cursive-style" script, others create symbols whose meaning only the artist, if anyone, understands.  It can be like a secret language.  Or just a hand-motion exercise.

Swap participants may create any background:  collage, ink, paint, rubber stamping, or a combination as a backdrop for their "Asemic Writing."

Your Asemic Writing might be the main feature of your design, a background detail, or an accent to your supporting artwork.
