GRUNGE/DISTRESSED ART Post Card Swap - Postmark by December 17th

What grinch-worthy timing, having a messy art swap right before Christmas!  Of course, some  of us might be so busy and stressed out that maybe the "distressed" theme hits the nail on the head!

According to Webster's New World Dictionary of the American Language (copyright 1975), the definition of "Grunge" is "dirty, messy, slovenly," none of which sound very appealing.  The definitions of "Distressed" are even worse.

There was a "Distressed Art" group swap on 8/25/16 you can refer to for some ideas:

Definitions aside, here are a few suggestions for fast, easy art techniques (and cautions) for creating up to 4 post cards for this swap's theme:

Over-stamping, blurred images
Paint-spattering
Torn paper
Overlapping images
Collage elements glued on and partially ripped off before completely dry
Random lines and scribbles
Smudges
Coffee rings?
Water spots?
Bits of junk mail?  Or we could save that for another swap.

IDEA: Take a piece of your mail art that you didn't like enough to send in, add more layers/marks/designs/collage, and VOILA!

Torn dictionary pages, torn Washi tape, silver paint marker scribbles,
drips of black acrylic paint, broken glass sticker, rubber stamping
