Update

Here's the reason things have been extra quiet around MMSA lately:

Meet Lily.
She is a one year old hound/lab mix that we adopted a few weeks ago.
In addition to this being my absolute busiest time of year at work (and in addition to the giant work project I'm doing on top of my regular job), I am now a dog owner!

We are all completely in love with her, but she has a huge amount of energy, and was not terribly well trained in the first year of her life.  She's a chewer, and is very interested in chasing the cat, and does not want me out of her sight.  Needless to say, she requires a lot of attention and supervision - it feels a little like having a newborn again.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.  I feel like we're starting to establish a routine, and that she's becoming less anxious as she settles in.  Also, the huge work deadline is a week away which means I'll have a little more time to breathe when the project is done.

I have some other swap descriptions in line, and with any luck I'll get them posted in the next day or two.

In the meantime, check out the "informal exchange" list and keep sending each other great mail.

Hi Karen,

So glad to see you posting again, was getting worried about you! And delighted about your new pup, Lily...she looks adorable.

Thanks for posting a new swap, can't wait to get started on it, and am looking forward to the next ones you're planning on posting, as well.

Congratulations on your newest family member, Karen! She looks so sweet. We are big fans of Jake here and hope he is adapting well. Good luck with work and settling in as an expanded, happy family! Hugs from Karen M.

What a beauty! Oooh, and hound/lab mix---no end to the fun and activity!
Our current dog was an abused guy and we got him from an alternatative Humane Society where all the animals are in foster care. He had probably already come a long way but was reeeeealy needy when we got him. His daily time at the off-leash park has been huge in socializing him to both dogs and people.
He is a real joy these days. Enjoy the heck out of Lily!
