About The Zines Swap...

By now I hope potential participants have
figured out the construction process.
Once you make a zine, it gets easier to do again.

At first I couldn't decide on a theme for my zines,
but as my attention wandered I noticed
the two kitchen trash bags
filled with scraps and snippets and
images from magazines which have been
sitting on the art room/craft room floor
for many, many months.
I'm embarrassed to admit that.

What I eventually chose to do
was to mostly limit my zine designs
to using bits and scraps that had
been accumulating.  To begin with,
I selected Gelli Plate prints
from my rather large stack to use
as backgrounds for these little booklets.
The zines I've been putting together have
turned out to be loosely color-themed:
I have been collaging words or images to match
or coordinate with my booklet backgrounds.
This is just one of many ways
to create a zine.

I hope everyone in this group swap
has found inspiration to make something
interesting, delightful or entertaining
to share with the rest of us.
Two participants besides myself
have already sent in their art.  I can tell
that this will be another wonderful
group swap.  :)
