Bark Cloth Style Post Card Swap - Postmark by April 29th

"Bark Cloth" was originally made in Asia, Africa and the Pacific from beaten strips of the inner bark of certain trees, then painted or dyed.  More modern versions were made from soft, thick, rough-textured cotton fabrics.

I have memories from the 1960's of camp curtains, chair cushions and furniture slip covers with botanical prints or abstract "atomic" images on muted colored backgrounds like rose, gray, olive green or dull blue.  Patterns were often large ferns, exotic flowers, abstract images of children or animals, space ships, boomerangs and line drawings.
