Transitions - Part 2

Hello Fellow Artists, Swappers, Friends,

In 2013 my search for decorated correspondence led me here to this wonderful mail art community.   New friendships and creative inspiration were an added bonus.  Some of you may have received first-contact mail from me, a.k.a. the "Unofficial Welcome Committee."

What an honor and an awesome responsibility to be handed the baton for managing this site.  Karen is still in the car, but she's handed me the wheel.  It sort of feels like driving "standard" after learning on an automatic.  Becoming acquainted with the details of group blog upkeep will be a process.  As long as I don't hit the brakes instead of the clutch, we'll be okay.  Hang on for the ride!

Someone said, "People don't want to be managed, they want to be led."  I want to set a good example and be an encouragement.  However, my own personal mail art replies may begin to take a little longer than before.  I ask for your patience and understanding in this regard.

I hope that the seasoned MMSA members will check the Informal Swap Page list from time to time and write to one or two of the "newbies" so they don't get discouraged while waiting to be noticed:  "Um, I'm new here and I want to play.  Will you be my friend?"

Some 30 - 40 new swap theme ideas keep me scribbling notes.  I welcome your ideas and suggestions, too, anticipating that many of you will volunteer to guest-host a swap.  Karen has left excellent instructions on how to do that, and I can help also.  If one or two people will host a swap each month using their own ideas (or some from the Swap Ideas list), we can have more swaps.

Feel free to contact me anytime with ideas, questions, suggestions or concerns.

Excited and energized-  Honi Chassin

Hooray! Thank you, Honi C.! You are super wonderful to take on this special project. Many thanks to Karen for creating a warm, fun, and creative community. Although I have not participated in a general swap in a while, I still enjoy exchanging personal mailart with friends from this site and looking at other people's works here. Thank you so much for your hard work and generous encouragement over the years! It has meant a great deal. Hugs to both of you! karenm
