User Friendly?

Thanks for your feedback on the new look to the blog.
I'm flying by the seat of my pants in terms of design and layout, and I'm still tweaking it.

I've reduced the size of the banner so that it doesn't take up your whole computer screen when you load the page, and I tried to make the tabs a little bigger in this version.

How's it working?  Is it as user friendly as the old green template?
Suggestions welcome!

  2. The smaller banner is better - the rest looks good to me!

  3. Much better with the smaller banner. I was here yesterday and wondered why the heck it seemed so weird. Didn't realize you were working on it. Seems fine otherwise but I haven't tried to do much.

  4. Yay! The banner is great but love being able to read the start of new blogs right away underneath. And I like that you changes the tabs to Black to start with (you know me, always thinking high contrast for anyone with changes in vision….But people can always change their screen color/background to their personal visual needs.)

  7. Yes, the new banner is much more svelte and sexy.

The previous iteration made me think of how I feel the day after Thanksgiving, when I'm trying to zip up a pair of previously snug pants . . . : D

  8. This is better -- I like how the comments follow the article. That's nice. Comments could be a wee bit larger and darker black? Is that even possible? That's probably my eyes..but still. Nice banner!

  9. The banner is much better now... I kept wondering what was wrong with that big banner, and I could not find the menu items. I think the font is still too small. Or I am too old.

    1. I agree with Cynthia. I think the tabs and the writing on them could still be a few point-sizes bigger, just for readability. (It's not necessarily an "old" thing, because fonts need to be bigger on screen to be easily read. It has something to do with the lighted screens.)

  10. I have always found your blog very user friendly, green or orange. I do usually use my phone though if that makes a difference. I thought you changed the banner to be summery, it is very cheerful- it made me smile the first time I saw it
