Round Postcard Swap - mail by April 8th

Create a postcard in any style, using the media of your choice
The only catch – the actual postcard has to be round.
You heard me – Round!
It will be mailed back to you without an envelope.
Won’t it be fun to get something round in the mail?

It only costs $.66 in the US, but I couldn't resist putting on a global forever stamp since they are round!

SWAP DETAILS:
  • Include your name and contact information on the back of your postcard (address and/or email and/or blog) so that you partner can thank you or find out more about you.
  • write a little message to your partner (something about yourself or where you live, or include your favorite quote, etc.)
  • Make sure you leave enough blank space for me to attach an address label and stamp (but don’t attach them!)
  • Stick the postcard an envelope with:
    • stamps or money to cover postage (it will cost $.66 to mail in the US, and $1.10 outside of the US)
    • a mailing label with your name and address on it (I will stick it on the card I mail back to you.  This keeps me from having to decipher handwriting on the envelope you send me, and saves me time when swapping everything and mailing it back out)
  • mail it to me no later than April 8th.

  • If you make more than one you can send them to me in the same envelope just make sure you include postage and mailing labels for each card you make.
  • I will post your work to the blog when I receive it.  If you would like your image linked to your blog, or flickr account, or facebook page, or etsy shop (or whatever) just send me a note telling me how you want it linked.  (this is a great way to meet other artists and make lots of new friends)
  • If you live outside of the US and don’t have US stamps or currency, you can send me $1.10 (per item) via paypal: iamrushmore@gmail.com

now what about size..?

round the size of a CD i think would be great.
it looks like the pictures shown could be this size to.
I will definitely take part.

Size is artist's choice. I honestly don't know if there's a maximum size at which the $.66 would no longer apply. My card was probably about 5-6 inches in diameter.
Make whatever size you like and if you're concerned about postage ask your friendly postal worker what it will cost to mail.
sorrt - I realize this isn't the most helpful answer of all time :)

Now, shall we stick the 66-cent postage directly on the round postcard, or throw it in the envelope?

Oh, how fun! An ode to my love of the circle.

stick it in the envelope, because your postcard might end up being sent internationally, in which case I'll be sticking on a global stamp (that was provided by the international swapper)

oh, wow.
I was actually going to suggest this in your suggestion box! WHAT a great idea!

I'm doing it, but I'm probably going to put it in an envelope because I'm paranoid.

Have a round day!

Ok. So, you say we have a swap partner. Will we know ahead of time who our swap partner is or do you decide? I mean how do we know whether to include an international global stamp or a US stamp for postage?

Karen Isaacson said...

sorry to confuse you, Jo! you send a US stamp since you're paying for the postage it will cost me to mail a card to you (within the US). People from outside the US send money so I can buy the international postage I need to mail something to them.

I'm sending some of these.
Hold on to yer britches.

Thanks for clarifying.

Going to be heading some your way. Then when we get ours back, planning to frame them into some sort of cool art piece for my studio.
